Gaza is collapsing. Already overwhelmed by three wars, by the Egyptian-Israeli double blockade in force since 2007 and its seizure by Hamas, the Palestinian territory is approaching the ditch. The deterioration has accelerated since the end of 2017 at a rate that alarms. Money is gone, there is an unemployment rate of 50%. With the impossible reconciliation between enemy Palestinian factions (the Fatah of President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas Islamists) the absence of a real government, the 30% cut in salaries of civil servants by the Palestinian Authority since March 2017 and Trump administration’s offensive, things are not likely to improve anytime soon. The future of Gaza is definitely bleak.
